I’M A PERSON NOT A DOLPHIN AT SEA WORLD AND EVEN IF I WAS A DOLPHIN I WOULD STILL OBJECT TO MY GENDER BEING POLICED BY CIS PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR ME FUCK OFF
there’s a lot of in-fighting between trans people but that’s literally incomparable to the way many cis people constantly feel the need to define our genders for us and make us jump through hoops and do cute tricks like friggin puppies in order to prove that we deserve to have homes and lives and necessary medical treatment.
it seems like what is new and edgy to the younger crowd and loud and vulgar to the older crowd then cycles as those young people become old and becomes classy and acceptable and “old people music” after time passes (think about jazz and how it used to be seen as super rebellious and rowdy and now it’s been super popularized and if you’re a young kid listening to jazz then you’re listening to old people music)
basically what i’m saying is that i can’t wait for the day when listening to the spice girls is seen as dignified and is “old people music” while the youngins listen to whatever is “the haps” in like eighty years
if you attack trans* people for having fun and being open about their gender and not wallowing in self hatred and shame and tell them theyre hurting ACTUAL trans people who have REAL problems number 1 you are garbage and number 2 you are garbage
in a way this post is super douchey.
because trans people who “have fun” and are “open about their gender” do not get bashed anymore than any other trans individual, per se. they are at a potential advantage in their situation which does naturally involve some potential bashing - the advantage being their self-confidence and optimism. self-confidence generally equals friends, and friends generally equals allies. so there is that.
this post just made me feel like depressed trans individuals were being shamed or called out for “wallowing in self hatred”. the wording is just demeaning in my opinion.
i just hate posts like this that are trying to raise some sort of awareness about something that everyone reblogs like they’re saving the motherfucking world or something. and in actuality this post doesn’t add up. i’d like to see incidents of lets say, comfortable trans individuals being openly bashed by “self-loathing” trans individuals. i think both ends of that spectrum have got each others backs.
what the post should be is:
DON’T BASH TRANS PEOPLE
i’m not trans so this isn’t personal but it just bothered me. maybe i am waayyyy off. just emotionally, this bugged the shit out of me.
“i’m not trans so”
oh my god shut up
“i’d like to see incidents of lets say, comfortable trans individuals being openly bashed by “self-loathing” trans individuals. i think both ends of that spectrum have got each others backs.” hahahahahahahaha shut the fuck up

Cathy Brennan, radical “feminist” terrorist, has set her sights on a young black activist in Baltimore County, MD. Phylicia Sampson is being taken to court by Brennan, a notorious harasser of trans women and their supporters. Sampson is a recent college grad with few resources, no car and no way to fight back without your help.
As a community, we’ve suffered Brennan’s assaults for a long time—her blog is the best known for outing trans women’s personal information. She believes trans women are men who are infiltrating the feminist community and expends her resources fighting them. The idea that she is now taking her harassment to a legal venue is horrifying. That she has selected a young black woman with few resources to fight back is repugnant.
We can’t let Cathy Brennan get away with this! Share Phylicia’s campaign on Facebook, twitter, tumblr and instagram. Here are some things you can do TODAY to help:
- Tell your friends why it is important that they donate to this campaign.
- Donate what you can.
- Write to your favorite feminist blog and ask them to cover this campaign
going to the thrift shop is a real big issue and i commend macklemore for bringing light to it
